The different possibilities of installing HorseGuard fence

To protect from an existing or dangerous and / or hazardous fence.

Twisted or smooth yarns, sheep fences or cords, in short with a dangerous fence for your horse (or a fence that you want to protect from your horse) and you can not remove, so double it with ribbon 4 cm well electrified! Fence rows less than 4 cm thick are not a visual barrier. As they are a physical barrier, they are also a lot of possibilities to be quite dangerous for the horse.

The different dangerous fences.

Barbed Wires

7 horses out of 10 are badly watched by this terrible fence, especially those whose unconscious owners recover a piece of ground fenced in barbed wire and which place there their horses without thinking.
Crease your eyes (as if you had poor eyesight) you will only see the 2 ribbons and not these 4 terrible rows of barbed wire. The barbed wire not only blows your eyes and tears the skin of your horses, but also cuts the tendons, causes serious infections, it is a large supplier of horses horse butchers. How many foals have never been able to express themselves because of barbed wire?

They are great “cutters of tendons”. They have the advantage of being impassable, but are almost invisible, so you have to visually point them to the horses by doubling them with a ribbon.

In situation of play or hustle the horse does not see it well. The danger is farther away: the road, the barbed wire of the neighbor, the ravine, etc … The little metal that it contains makes that rather quickly, it tickles more than it punishes.

The top of the fence serves as a bar to eat the flowers of the neighbor (that’s why some add a row of barbed!), And it eventually sag under the weight of the horse trying to to go over and get your feet in it.

When it first appeared in Sweden, we found that it was dangerous: too strong (2 tons or more at break) and too narrow (8 to 12 mm). In other words, we come back with solid fences like wire and again less visible than the ribbon (the rope is narrower than the small ribbon La Sanglière, which is not even wide enough for horses).

When they are very dense, well pricked and well pruned, are an interesting solution, but beware of the holes. Do not fill them with sons, because the horses, not seeing them, rush to gallop believing that it is a passage! Fill them with 2 or 3 rows of wide ribbon, even if not electrified.

They are often too low and the horses know them too well to rub on them. Their bones are sharp and during games and gallops, a horse can slip and unable to stop, he then engages his two anterior under the list of the bottom. The kicks are equally dramatic. The problem is easily solved by protecting them with a ribbon. A white ribbon in the middle of the 2 rows thanks to a normal 8V insulator prevents the horses from scratching laterally and demolishing these fences, or to pass the head with impunity in the middle to graze outside or to scratch the mane. To raise the fence because it is too low, or your whole one feels the whole or the mare of the neighboring field by passing the head over your fence, drill the top of the stakes and hook in the hole a stretch of fiberglass post with an insulator # 8bl).

The horses gnaw at them and rub them in the summer, plucking the planks! To avoid this, double them with an electrified tape.

Soon the horse comes rubbing, and a horse that rubs can develop more than 200 kg of lateral thrust. Also this fence which requires to be smart is very demoralizing and in general, it is protected by 1 or 2 rows of ribbon.
